Enhancing Financial Literacy on Campus, GTSM Held Securities Know-how Camp

November 21, 2008

Financial activities are an integral and vital part of national economic development. Correct financial knowledge is indispensable for every citizen. Thus it is important to propagate and disseminate financial knowledge. In the efforts to popularize financial knowledge, GTSM held a two-day Securities Know-how Camp for university students from November 22-23 to make enhancing the financial literacy on campus a starting point.

This program was the first collaboration between GTSM and China Youth Corp, an organization with a wealth of experience in holding campus activities. In the two-day program, participants learned about investment risks, securities trading, financial products, trends of international finance, building personal credit and career development. Experts and scholars were invited to give talks and share their experience. Correct money management and career planning concepts were introduced to the youths through vivacious group recreational activities to prepare them for competitions at a later date.

Nearly 130 students from 30 colleges and universities around the country enrolled in the two-day camp held at the Chientan Overseas Youth Activity Center in Taipei. Their enthusiastic response to the program indicates their needs for and awareness to the financial knowledge. Holding onto the beliefs in serving the market and supporting the society, GTSM will continue to endeavor in cultivating the seeds of financial knowledge.
